Coach & Team Parent Requirements

Manager/Coach Requirements for the 2022 Season

1. Volunteer Applications: All managers, coaches and team parents must log into SportsConnect (SC) and upload a copy of their driver’s license. For those of you that already have a SC account, you just need to go to the "Volunteer" tab on the left hand side and click on the GREEN "Find Volunteer Roles" button. If you do not already have a SC account, go to and create one, then go through the steps above. For board members, select the "League Administrator" role. Shortly thereafter, you will receive an email from JDP inviting you to submit a volunteer application online at JDP. This must be completed before they begin any practices. 2. LiveScan Fingerprinting: Effective January 1, 2022, new California state law went into effect to protect children from sexual abuse in youth organizations, including Little League. California passed Assembly Bill No.506, that requires a fingerprint-based background check and child abuse and neglect reporting training for individuals who volunteer more than 16 hours a month or 32 hours a year, which, for Little League, includes coaches, managers, board members and umpires.

In addition to the JDP background check, Lincoln Glen will require that all of our managers, coaches, board members and umpires who have not already done so, must complete LiveScan fingerprinting. If you are not sure if you have completed this task before for LGLL, please see the attached list of volunteers who have already completed this LiveScan requirement. Please bring the Live Scan form (attached) directly to Verify Group located at 262 E Hamilton Ave Suite A, Campbell, CA 95008 for fingerprinting. They are open M-F and on Saturdays, and you should call to make sure someone is available before you head there. (408) 761-2156. You can also book an appointment online at The fee for this LiveScan service will be invoiced directly to LGLL. This must be completed before they begin any practices. 3. Safe Sport Act: All managers, coaches and board members must complete the “Abuse Awareness for Adults” free online training through USA Baseball which is an online training will take about a half hour to an hour to complete. Go to  You will first need to create an account with USA Baseball. If you are asked for an organization, please select “Little League International.” After you create your account, go to “Courses” ( and select the “Abuse Awareness for Adults” course.  Once you complete the course, click on your name in the upper right hand corner, and under “My Account” you will see “Courses.”  Click on that tab and then click the button that states “Download Certificate” for the Abuse Awareness for Adults course. When completed, Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Board Members must upload their certificates to the “Safe Sport Act Certification” section of their volunteer profiles. This must be completed before they begin any practices.

4. Concussion Protocol Training: All managers and coaches must complete the “Concussion in Sports” free online training through NFHS which is an online training and will take about 20 minutes to complete. Go to and create a free account by clicking the “Register” button in the upper right-hand corner. (If asked for an organization, please insert “Little League”). After you create your account and are signed in, go to to take the “Concussion in Sports” course. Click on the “Order Course” button and then “Checkout” (Cost is $0). After checking out, click the “Got to My Courses” button on the receipt page, then the “My Courses” tab on your account’s Dashboard page. Click “Begin Course” for Concussion in Sports. After finishing the Concussion in Sports course, click on the “Download Certificate” button to download a .pdf of your course completion. Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches must upload this certificate to the “Concussion Protocol” section of their volunteer profiles. Please see this document for instructions on how and where to upload your certificate. This must be completed before they begin any practices.

5. Umpiring Requirement: All AA, AAA and Major Mangers will be assigned 2 games to umpire in case Laura is unable to fill a game. (You will not be allowed to umpire your own game.) Once we receive the schedule from Myles, we will work to set the schedule.

6. CPR: At least one person from each coaching staff (Team) needs to be certified with CPR. We offer the online CPR course via Simple CPR free of charge. The certification is good for two years. Please contact Travis McDonald, [email protected], and Travis will send you a link to the course. When completed, please send your certification to Travis. This must be completed before they begin any practices.

Volunteer Requirements

Anyone wishing to manage, coach or be a team parent this season can check the appropriate box in the team staff section of the registration system.  You will be able to complete your background check directly with JDP (the Little League International approved background check company).  Please make sure to include your driver’s license as one of your proof of residency as it is required to complete the background check. We also offer options to volunteer in our Snack Shack, Field Prep days, as well as signing up for Field Maintenance shifts during game days.

Please remember that Little League is an all-volunteer organization, dependent upon parents willing to volunteer to make our league work and become stronger. Within this registration process, you will have opportunities to volunteer for different positions and activities such as coaching or running the snack shack. Lincoln Glen Little League requires 1 parent volunteer per registered player. If you choose to opt out of volunteering, a $250.00 payment is required. All volunteers must register in our system for their specific role(s). If you fail to complete your volunteer requirement by May 30th, 2022, your credit card on file will be charged $250 after that date.

All families will need to create an account prior to completing their first registration within the system. In subsequent years, you may log in with your account information to register. Once you create your account, add the secondary guardian info as well as child info to the account. Once you complete these steps, you will be prompted to register your child(ren) for our Spring programs. Fill out all required fields (marked with an asterisk). Register all players in your family and then proceed to check out. You can pay with your credit card. You will receive a confirmation email and as well as confirmation screen page.

You are always able to log back into your account to modify personal information and view registration status and required documents.
