The next LG Little League Board of Directors meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 7pm, WGMS Library (corner of Cottle and Malone). This meeting will include the BOD election for the Spring 2012 season.

LGLL 12 Year Old All-Stars Win District 12 Championship
LG defeated Cambrian Park LL 5-2 in extra innings yesterday to win the District 12 Championship. Although the score might not reflect it, it was a pitcher’s duel from the very beginning. Derek Bauerle pitched 5 strong innings, giving up just 2 runs over that span. He also received 2 runs in support of his effort from his own team, including a towering solo HR by Clay Wilson in the 3rd inning. Anthony Navarro came in to close out the game by pitching the 6th and 7th innings, holding Cambrian Park LL to zero runs.
Although this was an entire team effort, highlighted by outstanding defensive plays from Gabe Valero, Boogie Meeker, Clay Wilson and Anthony Navarro, the play of the game belonged to Ryan Bindi. In the top of the 7th inning, with bases loaded and 2 men out, Ryan hit a bases clearing triple to right center field. This gave LG a 5-2 lead it would not relinquish and, ultimately, the District 12 title.
Our boys now move on to Sectionals this Saturday, July 16th at 2PM at Pajaro Valley Little League in Watsonville. Please come out and continue to support your team. We had a huge crowd of LGLL friends and family in attendance last night and more than one player commented on how much fun it was to play in front of a crowd that size – and supportive! As everyone who has seen them play can attest, they are a fun group to watch.

With the holiday shopping season upon us, we want to remind all that we are in the midst of a research effort with the University of Massachusetts (Lowell) to determine whether or not a moratorium will be placed on the use of composite 2¼-inch barreled baseball bats in the Little League Majors Division and below. We have already placed a moratorium on composite bats in the Junior League Baseball, Senior League Baseball, and Big League Baseball Divisions. (more)

The Juniors exercised a 2-year demon beating Almaden 11-1 in the District 12 All Star Championship Game. Tournament Record: 4-0 Next game: July 17 @ 2pm Fair Oaks Park (Wolfe Rd.). Congratulations Juniors!

Red Sox, 2010 District 12 TOC Champions
The Lincoln Glen Jr Division Red Sox won The 2010 District 12 Junior TOC Tournament 12-3 over the Lincoln Glen Yankees on 6/1/10. The tournaments #1 seed Red Sox went 5-0 in the TOC & went 24-2 overall.

Lincoln Glen hosted the game for the District 12 Red Sox and Menlo Atherton Red Sox. Players, parents and the Willow Glen community joined together for a great day of baseball. Weather permitting, opening day ceremony and games will take place as scheduled. Players should meet with their Team Manager out on the field dressed in full uniform no later than 8:15am. Opening Day Ceremony will begin at 8:30am.
Snack shack will sell donuts and coffee early AM and will feature an award winning Chinese Chicken Salad, BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch!
