Coaching Coordinator - Roles & Responsibilities

This position is a voting member of the Lincoln Glen Little League and is expected to attend a majority of the board meetings. He/She manages all aspects of tryouts and coaches training, presents a coach/manager training budget to the board and gains the funds necessary to implement a league-wide training program. He/She will help implement www.LittleLeagueCoach.org as the manager-coach education program for the league. In the role of Tryout Coordinator, on the day of tryouts you will make sure each station is staffed with volunteers, each station is setup with the proper equipment, and is run in a safe manner for everyone involved. As the Coaching/Tryout coordinator you may manage, coach or umpire provided they do not have conflicting interests.

Duties / Responsibilities:

The Coaching Coordinator shall:

Coaching:

1. Work with the VP’s of each division to ensure the leagues Coaching Standards are met.

2. Coordinates mini-clinics as necessary (Hardtke for coaches/managers and skill positions like catcher).

3. Order and distributes training materials to coaches and managers.

Tryouts:

1. Work with the Information Officer to organize volunteers for Player Evaluations.

2. Work with Field Operations to setup the different stations.

3. Publish a schedule for each age group (template available).

4. Work with the Player Agent and VP’s of Farm, AA, AAA and Majors to set evaluation expectations of managers’ responsibilities.

5. Post Mortem: Solicit feedback to what worked and what did not. How can we improve?

Time Commitment:

1. 10 monthly board meetings of approximately 2 hours per meeting.

2. Additional time commitments of 10 to 20 hours per season.
