VP Farm - Roles & Responsibilities

The VP of Farm position is a voting member of the Lincoln Glen LL and is expected to attend a majority of the board meetings. The VP manages all aspects of the preseason and regular season interactions with Managers, Coaches and Parents. The VP works with other board members as needed to support different
areas of the league.

Qualifications:

  • Prior Coaching or Managing experience.
  • Sound leadership, couched in knowledge, experience and common sense.
  • Efficient organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Dedication to the goals and purpose of Little League.
  • Personify the best public image in reflection to the community at large.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Determine how many potential returning Managers are interested in coming back. Review evaluations with President to determine if Managers are qualified
    to return prior to Board approval.
  • Create a list of potential new Managers to manage in Farm. If evaluations exist review with the President to determine if such persons are qualified to manage a team prior to Board approval.
  • Each candidate will be interviewed by the VP of Farm.
  • Assist Tryout Coordinator on tryout day. Lead and run Farm tryouts.
  • Assist Player Agent and Information Officer on running Farm draft.
  • Help coordinate with Player Agent and Information officer late sign ups and the balancing of teams.
  • Create and publish team practice schedules.
  • Maintain and update Farm rules with board approval.
  • Review game schedules from VP of Scheduling.
  • Keep Managers updated on all League information (Clinics, Game Schedules, etc).
  • Work with League Legal counsel to make sure all Managers, Asst. Coaches, and Volunteers have completed background checks and have been approved.
  • Conduct an all Managers/Coaches meeting prior to the regular season. Key objectives will be League rules, Standardization of skills, and
    Leadership/Coaching.
  • Observe the conduct of Managers/Coaches/Players/Parents during practices and games throughout the season.
  • Investigate all complaints and concerns of play. VP may settle disputes, but may request assistance from Player Agent, or President.
  • Conduct an end of the regular season Managers/Coaches meeting. Blind draw for playoff seeding. Review of Board approved Playoff Rules.
  • Assist Player Agent in voting process for Futures Game.
  • Select Teams, Managers and Coaches for Futures Games.
