VP Juniors - Roles & Responsibilities

The VP of Juniors position is a voting member of the Lincoln Glen LL and is expected to attend a majority of the board meetings. He/she manages all aspects of the preseason and regular season interactions with managers and coaches. He/she works with other board members as needed to support different areas of the league. As VP of Juniors you may manage, coach or umpire provided they do not have conflicting interests.

Duties / Responsibilities

1. Conduct the formation of teams if applicable with the assistance of the Player Agent.

2. Be in charge of coordinating managers and coaches for each team. Work with the board to evaluate all coaching candidates.

3. Works with the President to ensure that a background check is completed for each manager and coach.

4. Assist in Verification Night.

5. Coaching Standardization: Encourage managers and coaches to attend organized coaching clinics.

6. Review schedule with VP of Operations/Scheduling.

7. Develop/Publish a practice schedule.

8. Keep up with player-related issues including roster changes, vacancies, long-term injuries, etc. and communicate immediately to Player Agent.

9. Observe the conduct of Managers/Coaches during practices and games throughout the season.

10. Investigate all complaints and concerns of play, in your division. You have the authority to settle disputes, but may request assistance from Player Agent, Chief Umpire or President.

11. Vote on matters before the Board of Directors.

12. Solicit End of Year feedback from Manager/Coaches for what can be improved.

13. Attend district 12 Junior representative meetings for coordination of regular season, TOC, and All-Star seasons.

14. Coordination of All-Star team player and Manager/Coach selection.

15. Coordination with Willow Glen high school coach to coordinate use of fields for practices and games.

16. Coordination with approved umpires for all regular season games.

17. Coordination of field improvement and maintenance with managers/coaches and Willow Glen High School coaches and school administrators.

18. Coordination with League Director of fields for budgeting and execution of field maintenance and improvement.

19. Maintain list of available pool players.

Time Commitment:

1. 10 monthly board meetings estimating 2 hours each meeting.

2. Approximately 20 hours of other activities.
